About
Two dishes. One home.

Dal is the daily engine of a hundred million kitchens — cheap, high-protein, endlessly variable. Paneer is its perfect partner. Online, both get buried at #37 on someone's “100 Best Indian Recipes” list. Nobody owns these two dishes. We decided somebody should.
Dal Paneer is built around three verbs. Learn — the Dal Index and Paneer School, reference-grade guides to every lentil and technique. Cook — recipes tested until they work in a normal kitchen with normal patience. Find — a map of spots around you that do these dishes right, eventually rated dish-by-dish by people who actually ate there.
There's a fourth verb coming: order. Before this site, we ran a small dal-and-paneer meal business, and what customers loved most was not having to think — plan the week once, and dinner shows up. We're rebuilding that idea with partner restaurants doing the cooking: fixed dal + paneer + rice + roti combos, from kitchens we've personally vetted — one city at a time.
It's early and we build in the open: the finder runs on sample data while the real map is seeded, ratings haven't shipped, and some photography is borrowed (with credit) until our own shoots land. If that honesty appeals to you — welcome.
